Traditionally produced in Belgium by the Groendal family for over two generations, Old Groendal Cheese is made using pasteurised cow’s milk sourced from a single farm. Each wheel is matured for a minimum of 18 months, developing a firm texture with characteristic protein crystals. The flavour is rich and full-bodied, with notes of caramel, butterscotch and roasted nuts, followed by a long, savoury finish.
Use
Ideal for cheese boards, grating over pasta and risotto, or pairing with Belgian beers and full-bodied red wines. Also suitable for cooking, adding depth of flavour to sauces, gratins and baked dishes.
