Hoi sin sauce is originally a Chinese barbecue sauce. Here, it has been revisited to bring it into line with Japanese tastes. It owes its rich flavour to the quality of soy bean miso used.

Its powerful aroma is reminiscent of Mexican "mole poblano" with cocoa accents, but without the spiciness. Dried fruit notes (date, fig), garlic and spice accents. This sauce goes remarkably well with meat tartares, Peking duck, grilled pork and beef, grilled or steamed vegetables, root vegetables, pasta and potatoes. It also enhances sauces for game meats and simmered meat dishes.
